Artist Statement:

My focus has been in creating large-scale site-specific commissioned public and private sculpture for each unique site. Also, studio work consists of smaller pieces in limited editions.

Two examples of concepts are the following: Curved Form with Rectangle and Space is a metaphorical expression of fundamental dynamics found in the natural world and in the human experience. The form suggests dualities, held in dynamic tension by its visual suggestion of simultaneously falling and lifting. It is solid and open, concave and convex, while suggesting stillness and movement in Time and Space.

Half Circle echoes major themes found in nature and in our human experience. The form references cycles, motion, and with its tilt, is in dynamic tension. It invites the viewer to imagine a full circle which is a common shape. The circle form mimics the curvature of the earth, sun and moon with its endless evolutionary cycles suggesting to the viewer contemplation of the vast cosmos and one’s place in it.
